We’ve all become lax with our privacy in the Facebook age, but this iPhone feature may take things a bit too far. This features can be found under privacy setting it’s automatically saved places you have been in

After knowing about it, I went to my settings to see how much it really knew about me. I found out that it saved pinpoint my flat here in New York, the address of the house I stayed in during my recent trip to, and my home address back in Michigan.

If that isn’t disconcerting enough, beneath every location you’ve visited, That terrible cafe I spent too much time in a few weeks ago? Recorded for posterity. The funny things that my sister wasn’t lying when she complained that I visited my best friends more often than her when I was home for the weekend? Easily provable.

According to Apple, the list is kept “to learn places that are significant to you.” And Apple isn’t alone in keeping track of this amount of location data — Google does thins things too, through a “Location History”
